CellEAST Festival 2023
Vestra invites you to CellEAST Festival 2023, an exceptional event dedicated to cello music lovers
Vestra has undertaken to support initiatives that promote art and culture in the community and is for the second consecutive year the main sponsor of CellEAST Festival, the first cello festival in Romania, an exceptional event that celebrates art and brings cello music to the forefront. This year’s edition of the festival takes place between May 26 and June 4, 2023, in Bucharest and Timișoara.
“Classical music has the power to enrich our lives, and CellEAST Festival offers the audience the opportunity to discover the fascinating world of the cello. We want CellEAST to become a traditional event in Romania and we are delighted to contribute to creating an unforgettable experience for all cello music lovers. The second edition of the festival promises to be an exceptional one, featuring virtuoso cello guests who perform in the most important concert halls in the world, so get ready to be carried away by the enchanting sounds of this wonderful instrument,” says Vlad Iftime, Managing Partner of Vestra.
With a diverse program full of surprises, CellEAST Festival 2023 brings 17 world-class cellists to the Romanian audience, whose remarkable performances and vast experience will be presented in memorable concerts in Bucharest and Timișoara. This year, spectators are expected not only in the classic concert halls, the Radio Hall and the National Athenaeum, but also in unconventional locations, such as the Theresia Bastion and the New Millennium Reformed Center in Timișoara, the Italian Church, the Artmark Auction House, Cărturești Carusel or Club Control in Bucharest.
Along with the concert programs, CellEAST Festival 2023 will host two masterclasses: CelloVerse and MiniCellos. These educational programs are a unique opportunity to learn from the best teachers in the field, being dedicated to both advanced and beginner instrumentalists, and will be held at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
“The evolutions of cellists are often similar, and in terms of organizing events related to the cello, almost identical. Perhaps this is the reason why the level of young cellists has increased enormously in recent years. If we analyze the models of cello festivals, we notice the significance of the pedagogical side and the focus on it. Also, the communities generated are extremely united, generations in a row. CellEAST Festival wants to be a pole of influence in Europe, setting a very high standard after the first edition. I hope that we will manage to maintain this level and analyze the artistic and educational benefits in at least ten years, and that the name of the CellEAST festival will be known all over the world,” says Răzvan Suma, Concert Soloist of the Radio Orchestras.
The artists invited to perform at the CellEAST Festival 2023 are Bruno Cocset – France, László Fenyö – Hungary, Attila Pasztor – Austria, Denis Severin – Ukraine and the Romanians – Răzvan Suma, Marin Cazacu, Ani Marie Paladi, Mihail Jojatu, Mihai Marica, Valentin Răduțiu, Adrian Mantu, Ella Bokor, Ștefan Cazacu, Teodora Atanasova, Mircea Marian, Octavian Lup.
